Statement
This is an electric universe and we are electric meat. It is my wish to harness rampant electricity and let the charge pass through me in a way that translates to an art object. Now is a chapter of my life when I remember that every molecule vibrates with the singularity, and I use that memory to create work in the same vein. By my estimation, the experience of humanhood can best be expressed through creation. I prefer to express this by making work that probes at the mysterious and ethereal. Impermanence, time as an illusion, simulation theory, interspecies communication, subtle bodies, and interdimensional intelligence are some of the themes that my work desires to explore. Experimentation and opportunity for the unexpected is most vital to my practice. I am interested in using materials that are naturally imbued with a magical sensibility in an attempt to make the work emit something. Ceramics is geology in a hurry, cyanatypes are photosynthetic, copper is a conductor, and dark room photography is an expression of drawing with light. These materials aid me in making work that is a continuation of the natural universe. There is a tenderness infused in my work as I polish, burnish, wrap, layer, and weave; these processes invite me to energetically entangle with the work that I make.
